helping
ambient and frozen suppliers to give an optimum
service
More than 350 suppliers already utilise PCCs and
are seeing the benefits.
the PCC concept
For ambient and frozen food suppliers: |
| |
- PCCs
offer a viable warehouse solution for any supplier
- whether you supply a handful of pallets a
week, or thousands.
- PCCs
provide a link between our suppliers and our
Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) network.
- A
shared user warehouse, a PCC, is usually located
within 30 miles of a supplier's production facilities
and holds product destined for Sainsbury's.
- Where
viable, suppliers are encouraged to transfer
Sainsbury's product directly from production
into the PCC, replacing existing storage facilities.
- PCCs
can store Sainsbury's own label and supplier
branded products.
- There
is no minimum drop; stock is consolidated between
suppliers into full loads, at a fixed cost per
pallet.
- Product
held in PCCs remain the supplier's property
until the goods are received at the RDC.

| benefits
|
| |
| There
are many benefits to ambient and frozen food suppliers: |
| |
-
PCCs enable suppliers to meet 7 day order placement
and 24 hour leadtimes.
- PCCs
allow customer availablilty to be increased
with no additional supply chain costs.
- Operating
round the clock, 364 days a year; PCCs can continue
to process your orders when you are not there.
- Deliveries
to the RDCs are our responsibility. So depot
delays become a Sainsbury's issue.
