The aim of Primary Distribution
is to optimise
the flow of goods into our Regional Distribution
Centres (RDCs). With order placement and replenishment
already operating 7 days a week in our stores, we
require similar capabilities further up the supply
chain - Primary Consolidation Centres provide a
means for increasing availability of products to
the customer without adding costs to the supply
chain.
Our
composite RDC
network, supported by a network
of Primary Consolidation Centres (PCCs), mean
we satisfy our consumer demands better, faster
and at least cost.
We
operate two PCC networks; one for suppliers of
non-perishable and frozen goods and one for perishable
