EDI
for SBR is the mechanism by which Sainsbury transmits
sales data to Suppliers of certain non-SABRE-ordered
direct-delivered commodities. EPOS information
from Sainsbury's ScanData system is extracted
for participating Suppliers and formatted into
the EANCOM SLSRPT message which is transmitted
to Suppliers each day.
The
benefits of the SBR project are:

in the ordering process for Stores

sales of commodities included in the project
- Improved
availability of the commodities concerned
- Reduced
Store stocks of the commodities concerned
- Fewer
returns for the commodities concerned
- Improved
reaction to sales trends
