Here are answers to your most popular questions about our Smartphone App inc.

 

Can I shop online using the App?
Not yet, but we know its something our customers want and we are working on it!

 

How do I see my bonus point offers?

The Sainsbury's App displays Nectar displays bonus offers specially chosen for you.  Open the Bonus Points section of the App to view your new and current bonus offers.

Taking part is easy. Just select 'I want it' to opt in, then head instore or online and make the stated purchase by the date shown. Your points will usually be added to your account within seven days.

 

Does the App cost anything?

No. The App is free to download and free to own. Enjoy!

 

Can I use my phone as a Nectar card by swiping it in store?

No. Unfortunately due to some technical limitations, our stores cannot scan barcodes held on the Smartphone. So don't forget to hand over your Nectar card or key tag at the check out.

 

Why download the App? I already receive Nectar offers by email or post?

The offers on the App are exclusive to the App.

 

Can I collect points on my online shopping through the App?

Not yet, but it is something that we are working on. If you do shop online, don't forget that you can collect Nectar points on virtually anything you buy online from your home computer.  Choose from over 450 stores including favourites like sainsburys.co.uk and eBay.co.uk.  Simply go via nectar.com before you shop online.

 

How does the App get updated?

Should there be an update to the App, there will be a notification on the relevant App Store or Market Place.

 

How do I remove the App?

We're sorry that you do not want to have the app any more.  You can uninstall it just like any other app either through the desktop or directly from your phone.  Don't worry, there will still be some great offers waiting for you should you download the app again.

 

Do I need an internet connection to access all the functions?

You don't need an internet connection to use the App, although you will need to connect to get your latest offers and deals.

 

What if I do not get an internet connection in a Sainsbury's store?

Just make sure that you opt-in to your offers by the end of the day, when you have reception again.  We will log your purchases and you will receive the bonus points within 28 days as usual.

 

How do I log in to the App?

You'll need to enter the last 11 digits of your Nectar card number along with your surname and postcode. This will be the postcode you gave to Nectar when you first registered your Nectar card.

If any of your details have changed, please contact Nectar so that your account can be updated. You can do this by visiting the Nectar contact us webpage at nectar.com or by calling the Nectar helpline 0844 811 0811.

 

How long does it take for bonus points to be awarded?

Typically it will take 7 days to award points on qualifying transactions, but it could be up to 28 days as it takes a few days for all the information to get to Nectar and for Nectar to award you the points.

How often are the offers updated?

You should receive new offers every one or two weeks.

 

Once I select an offer, how long will it be valid for?

Your opt-in to the offer will be valid as long as the offer is valid.

 

What is store locator?

The Store Locator will help you find your nearest Sainsbury’s store and information about its opening hours and facilities. You can either use the built in GPS to find your nearest stores, or you can search using an address.

 

How do I provide feedback or suggestions to improve the App?

We'd welcome your input.  The Nectar contact us webpage at nectar.com lists the ways to contact Nectar.
