Sainsbury's free-from recipe
This fruit compot is delicious stirred into a free-from muesli or free-from granola.

Delicious ruby fruit compote that makes porridge a bit more special.

250g pitted fresh black cherries (alternatively tinned cherries) 500g Bramley apples - peeled, cored and sliced 30g granulated sugar Juice of 1 orange 200g Sainsbury's freefrom porridge ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1. Place the cherries, apples, sugar and orange juice in a large pan, then cover and cook over a low heat for 15 minutes.
2. Once all the fruit has softened, turn off the heat and leave for a further ten minutes with the lid on.
3. Cook the porridge following pack instructions. When piping hot, top with the compote, sprinkle with cinnamon and enjoy. |
