Cults Primary gets active

At Cults Primary School we pride ourselves on promoting healthy eating and fitness amongst our students and staff. Through the Active Kids scheme we have been able to acquire a wide range of equipment and experiences, helping us to get the children to enjoy physical activity. We were consequently delighted to participate in the Active Kids 2010 case studies.

Amongst other items in 2010, we exchanged our vouchers for two of the Active coaching sessions - Brazilian Soccer School and Western Line Dancing coaching - and you can see how much fun our school had in our case study video.

The coaching sessions are fantastic because they offer something new and exciting to the children, particularly to those who are not particularly strong at the traditional sports. The teachers also appreciate having the coaches in, as they provide fresh ideas of activities to entertain the children. And most importantly the sessions get everyone involved, whether practising their skills or screaming 'yee haa'!

We know that by rallying the troops and getting parents and the local community involved, a small effort can really make a huge difference.
