Sainsbury's and FareShare

Supporting the local community

For over 17 years Sainsbury’s has been working with FareShare, a UK-based charity dedicated to tackling the issues of food poverty and waste.
FareShare provides quality food to a network of 700 community-based organisations such as homeless shelters, day centres for the elderly and breakfast clubs for vulnerable children.
Sainsbury’s helps FareShare by donating surplus food. This food is edible, safe and nutritious, but is either past its display until date or the packaging is damaged.
